Gortbrack Farm, located 5 miles outside Tralee town was set up by Eileen Carroll and Ian McGrigor in 1991. Back then it was a neglected 10 acre strip with most of the land run over with rushes. This is the probable origin of it’s name ‘gort’ meaning ‘field’ and ‘breac’ meaning ’speckled’.With many willing hands it has developed into a comprehensive certified organic smallholding.
We are ideally located for walking groups to explore the nearby Dingle Peninsula, Killarney National Park, Ring of Kerry, Wild Atlantic Way and much more in the diverse landscape of the southwest of Ireland. We are off the beaten track, so if you are not into too much exertion Gortbrack Organic Farm offers a quiet relaxing holiday experience for families or individuals to come and enjoy. The area is very scenic with mountains stretching out into the Atlantic ocean (bringing it’s share of rain!).
We grow a wide range of organic vegetables. fruit and herbs while maintaining habitats for biodiversity. See our farm map page for the nature trail and variety of habitats.
