Cabin Accomodation
Gortbrack
Farm, located 5 miles outside Tralee town was set up by Eileen Carroll
and Ian mcGrigor in 1991. Back then it was a neglected 10 acre strip
with most of the land run over with rushes. This is the probable origin
of it's name 'gort' meaning 'field' and 'breac' meaning 'speckled'.
With many willing hands it has developed into a comprehensive certified
organic smallholding.
We are ideally located for walking groups to explore the nearby Dingle
penninsula, Killarney National Parks and much more in the diverse
landscape of the southwest of Ireland.
We are off the beaten track, so if you are not into too much exertion
Gortbrack Organic Farm offers a quiet relaxing holiday experience for
families or individuals to come and enjoy.
The area is very scenic with mountains stretching out into
the Atlantic ocean (bringing it's share of rain!). But no matter what
the weather is like, there's plenty to see and do, or just take your
ease.

See what people are saying about the Gortbrack Organic farm cabins.....
"I spent a week last July on my holidays in the Gortbrack Organic Farm cabins. The cabins are beautifully aspected, in a very tranquil setting away from the main farm house. They are fully equipped and extremely cosy and bright - altogether a delightful starting point from where to explore the farm itself and beyond to an abundance of spectacular beaches, lakes and mountains. The owners are friendly and helpful and ready to offer information and advice on all aspects of organic farming".

"Inside it's bright, clean, fresh and airy. Outside there's bog, potatoes, kale, creative and earthy. Showering with well water that is heated by solar panels and immersion heater, flushing with pond water. Warmed by the sun and a small fire in the stove.
This cabin has it all.
A peaceful retreat in a friendly neighbourhood".

"I enjoyed a long weekend break in Gortbrack in August 2009. The cabins emerge from the hillside and it is a pleasure to avail of this wonderful location. While absorbing the tranquility of the landscape it is evident that one is part of a busy and creative hub. Gortbrack has an infectious energy and one that I look forward to returning to for a regular boost to my batteries or as the case may be just to unwind. I was inspired to write the following in the cabin."

After sweet cocktails at dawn,
An odd wasp scatters.
